From day one of since the release of the Trainz Classics 3 version of our favourite simulator it was obvious that the product wasn't even close to being finished. Thanks to the British content creators quite a number of initial errors in the content were corrected very fast and made available to the public.
Unfortunately also quite a few "bugs" or other types of errors wriggled their way into the simulator. Rumours about an upcoming patch were quickly to be found on the diverse forums. Of course this was nowhere to be confirmed by anybody from Auran and most importantly nobody mentioned when it would be made available ... until.
On the 15th of August I send a request to the Auran helpdesk:
"broken sessions
Five out of the eight automated sessions in TC3 are broken. One way or the other the simulator either gets confused, gets stuck or de-rails. When will the TC3 AI be fixed to acceptable standards?
Z."
On the 26th I finally received an answer:
"Hi,
Today. New electronic download and patch are being released today.

Have a look at today's date ... check again ... yep ... it is August 29th in Central Europe. In Australia the 26th lasts already three days! No wonder Australia is considered a backwater area on Earth. Days take at last three times linger then anywhere else. For all we know they still think it is the 18th century instead of the 21th.
Of coruse I couldn't resist sending a reply to the helpdesk after the 26th ended for most Earthlings:
"Longer days in Oz?
Hmm,
Although happy to hear a patch is made I am however not very surprised to find out that "today" means something else at Auran's then it does here.
Perhaps you know now when and where to obtain the patch?
Z."
To my utter surprise even this message was answered. The answer though leaves a lot to be desired though:
"Hi,
We'll put a post on the forums once its available.
Regards,
Auran HelpDesk

Now ... I could write pages full of complaints about how one part of the Auran company doesn't know what the other part is doing. But I will not do that. I hold just one person responsible for thius Fuck-up: Tony Hilliam ... the man in charge. The man that makes sure your company will lose millions of Dollars. The man that is writing the final chapters of Trainz.
